Well, the jury’s still out as to whether or not I like this card. The striped background paper is from the Dots and Dashes collection, and up until now, I’ve never used it before because I don’t particularly like it. However, as I’ve been using up the other papers in that collection, I now have about 6 sheets of it! So, I decided to pull it out and see what I could come up with. I used Old Olive and Apricot Appeal cardstock, the dotted old olive designer paper is from the Petals & Paisley’s collection (from the Spring Mini Catalogue). I stamped the flowers from the Bodacious Bouquet first in Pumpkin Pie, then in Apricot Appeal and cut them out. The pumkin flower is mounted on a dimensional. Both flowers have a touch of dazzling diamonds glitter in their centers. I also stamped the stem in olive and cut it out as well. I like to leave a small white border around images when I cut them because I find they stand out more against the background colors. I used the ticket corner punch for the corners of the striped paper, and then added silver brads. The greeting was stamped with the Fancy Flexible Phrases stamp set (it is now retired, but I couldn’t find anything else that fit my “vision”). As a finishing touch I tied 3 different ribbons around the olive strip: apricot grosgrain, olive stitched ribbon and silver cord.
On a side note, I’m really excited because over the next month or so, I’m going to be changing the look of my blog and website. I hired Beth Silaika from Freckled Fun Designs to design a banner for me, and my personal website designer, Black Crow Designs as well as my blog designer, Webs by Amy, are going to update my website and my blog to match. So keep on the lookout!
