Hey there sweet friends! Today I have a Bible Journaling video tutorial to share with you. It’s my first Bible Journaling page in my brand new ESV Single Column Journaling Bible by Crossway.
The page in my Bible that I used is the very first page you see when you open up your Bible – the one that says “This bible belongs to.”
I decided that I wanted to personalize my page by incorporating some of my favourite colors, patterns, textures, and embellishments – all those artsy things that just make me happy when I play with them and then look at my creation afterwards.
I see this page as a special page because essentially although it is about me in a sense – it’s a page that I have dedicated to the Lord to let Him know that I am here, ready and waiting to hear his voice.
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” ~ Isaiah 6:8
Hey there sweet friends!
Today I wanted to share with you a video tutorial for a mixed media prayer card I created for my Prayer Box Project.
As a Christian mixed media artist, I love looking for ways to connect my faith to my art, and my art to my faith.
Which is why I’m really excited to give you a peek into a new project that I’ve started working on, which I’m calling the Prayer Box Project.
Welcome to my final Donna Downey Studios Artist Gang Tuesday!
Today is my last day as a member of the first ever Donna Downey Studios Artist Gang. It was such and honor and a pleasure to be chosen to work with Donna and Bill, and all the other talented artists that were a part of the team.
Welcome to another Donna Downey Studios Artist Gang Tuesday!
For my Artist Gang feature this month I decided to create an art journal page since it’s been awhile since I have had the opportunity to create anything.
If you’ve ever read any past posts of mine then you’ll know that for me, art is not about the finished product. Although I embrace art as an opportunity to grow and develop my creative side, more often than not, art is an exploration of my inner mental and emotional world. (more…)
Welcome to another Donna Downey Studios Artist Gang Tuesday! For this month’s project I decided to create another 12″ x 12″ mixed media canvas with an inspirational quote.
My poor studio is sadly lacking in art pieces for the wall because in the past my tendency was to create most of my art in my journal. My reason for this was simple – I was experimenting, and I didn’t want to chance “ruining” my canvases. I wanted to save my canvases for the time when I felt as though my artwork had progressed enough to be “worthy” of a canvas. (more…)
