I’m going to the Ottawa Stampin’ Girl’s Convention this weekend and was trying to come up with a swap card – something pretty, yet not too time consuming as I’ve kind of left it to the last minute. I was also trying to come up with something that didn’t use any retiring stamp sets or product, so I pulled out the stamp set I received at the Lansing Michigan Stampin’ Up! Regional Convention. This stamp set is called Double-Line Doodles, and will be featured in the new catalogue being released July 1st. I totally love this set! I used Black, Almosty Amethyst and Rose Red as my colors and came up with 3 different versions – none of which I’m totally in love with, and fell into my swap “criteria”. I thought though I’d post them anyways and let YOU be the judge! The top card uses the new Palette ‘O Prints paper in Amethyst. I do love the subtle textured look it gives. As embellishment I added black brads, black gingham ribbon, a dot of crystal effects in the center of the flower with dazzling diamonds glitter.
For this card, instead of glitter in the center of the flower I added a Rose brad from the Rich Regals collection, and created a scalloped edge using the small corner rounded punch. The white dots in the center of each scallop use the Signo White Gel Pen.
There’s not much extra to this card – you can’t really see it, but I stamped one of the smaller flowers in Rose Red ink on the Rose Red strip. In all three cards I used my current watercoloring technique: blender pens and re-inkers. For a list of supplies, please click on the pictures. Thanks for looking!
