I am absolutely LOVING Stampin’ Up!’s new flower fusion felt flowers! When I first opened up my tin a few days ago, I was a bit unsure about them because I found the colors to be a bit challenging. It turns out, I needn’t have worried. I guess that’s what creativity is all about – opening yourself to trying new things.
The card base is Sahara Sand CS. You’ll notice that this card orientation is a bit of a different style for me – it ‘s a lenghtwise card that opens to the side. To get a card of this orientation you need to cut your CS so that it is 4 1/4" x 11", fold it in half and then lay it on it’s side so that the fold is towards the left. I matted Berry Bliss DP onto Close to Cocoa, and added a Rose Red brad in each corner. If you haven’t yet seen the new designer papers that Stampin’ Up! released in the Spring/Summer 2008 Collection, you’ve GOT to take a look – they are sooo YUMMY! I also created a "faux knot" out of white tafetta ribbon. The main image/greeting comes from the Enjoy Every Moment stamp set. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip craft ink and clear embossed it. In the center of the "o" I added a felt flower with a small pretty in pink rhinestone brad. The "life" was stamped the same way, but on a tab I punched out using the tab punch. Both the main image piece and it’s Close to Cocoa mat were mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Oh yes, I almost forgot to add that I sponged Pretty in Pink craft ink around the edges of the Sahara Sand card base, the DP as well as the white mat. All supplies are Stampin’ Up!
