The theme for my June Scrappers Club is summer / the beach, so I adapted a single page 8 1/2″ x 11″ layout that was in last summer’s mini catalogue into a double 12″ x 12″ spread. I used Kraft cardstock for the background, then as accents I used So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue. The stamp set I used is called Shore Thing. I stamped the sand pipers from that set along the bottom of both pages using Close to Cocoa ink, then stamped the sand in Ruby Red Ink. I then tore on an angle along the bottom of the So Saffron piece, mounted it on the Chocolate Chip and made a corresponding tear. I stamped the sun in the top right corner of the Saffron piece in Barely Banana ink so that it would be very subtle. These were then mounted onto the Kraft cardstock. On the Bashful Blue pieces I stamped the “waves” stamp in Bashful Blue ink, then mounted them as well. The letters were stamped with the Letterpress alphabet onto the Ruby Red in craft Chocolate chip ink. I punched a hole at the top of each letter and added a brad from the Antique Copper Hodgepodge Hardware collection. The journalling mat is in Confetti White cardstock matted onto Ruby Red, and anchored with another piece of Hodgepodge. As a finishing touch I added a rectangular frame from the Hodgepodge, inside which I stamped 2007 using Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Ruby Red. It was anchored on one end with a brad, and on the other end using Chocolate Grosgrain. All supplies are Stampin’ Up! Thanks for looking!
