Pretty Baroque

Today was a HAPPY day…..some of my new products from the 2007 Fall/Winter Collection arrived today.  I had just returned from picking my kids up from VBS, and my oldest son was the first one at the front door;  “Mommy, there’s a package here for you!” he called out to me.  “Yay, my new toys are here!”  (picture me clapping and jumping up and down).  Of course my kids found that hilarious “Those aren’t toys” they said.  “You’re right, not toys like yours, they’re Mommy toys!”  So of course, I just *had* to break them out and play!   I would have to say, that for me, the most anticipated of all the products was Stampin’ Up!’s new Pretties kit (when you click on the link, you can see it on the top of page 188).  I have been dying for Stampin’ Up! to come out with half-back pearls, clear rhinestone brads and dye-able flowers – the Pretties Kit has an awesome assortment of all of these things!

My card base is Very Vanilla.  I stamped the scroll-like stamp from the Baroque Motifs stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink in the top left of the card. I layered a 2″ wide strip of the new Brocade Background designer paper along the bottom of the card, then sponged the edges of the whole cardfront with chocolate chip ink.  The greeting is from the same stamp set, and was also stamped in Chocolate Chip.  Both flowers and the half-back pearl come from the Pretties Kit.  I dyed the larger flower using my aquapainter and the River Rock ink refill, and the smaller flower using the Chocolate Chip ink refill.  I was amazed at how easy it was to do!  Both flowers, as well as the cream-colored pearl were adhered using mini glue dots. All supplies are Stampin’ Up!
