Before I tell you about today’s card, I wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for your prayers and your support. Thankfully we seem to be weathering the storm very well – lots of rain, very high winds but no power outages and no flooding or damage in our area. I feel very blessed because there are areas within a 30 minute radius of us that have been getting it much worse. Although the storm continues, in our area at least, I think we’ve gotten over the worst. My heart and my prayers go out to those that continue to be hard hit.
I mentioned a little while ago that I’ve really been into cards with a lot of white space – I’ve also recently been drawn to very neutral cards – so here I combined the visual “white” space with a very neutral tone on tone color scheme. I used the greeting from Lacy & Lovely and stamped it in Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla CS. The flower and flourish are from one of my favorite stamp sets – Everything Eleanor. I stamped the flower in Soft Suede and the flourish in Crumb Cake using a masking technique to hide the end of the flourish behind my flower. I matted my Very Vanilla CS panel onto Early Espresso CS and then onto a Soft Suede card base. I finished off my card by embellishing with a few colored pearls – I colored Stampin’ Up!’s Basic Pearls with my E44 Copic Marker.
Well that’s all for today – I hope you enjoyed this card, and if you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to try a neutral tone on tone card. If you do end up creating one, I’d love you to post it on your blog and then come back here and link to it in the comments section of this post.
