Simple Christmas

When the Nestabilities came out in the summer, I really, really wanted them.  Even though they were a great deal for what you received, I had a hard time breaking down and buying them – after all, I didn’t want just one or two, I wanted all of them!  I hit upon the perfect solution.  I decided that my husband needed to get these along with the Wizard, for me for Christmas. That way, I could justify spending that much money.  So one day after dinner, with an innocent look on my face and a very sweet tone of voice, I told my husband that I had found the perfect Christmas present for me from him.  Once I enthusiastically told him all about them, I finished with the upsell that now he wouldn’t have to worry about shopping for me, and he’d know that I’d be getting something I really wanted. The hitch though, was that I told him that I needed to use them before Christmas – there was just NO way I could wait that long.  Sweet man that he is, his only question to me was “Well then, what will you open on Christmas day?”  I told him, “Not to worry, I’ll keep the box and the packages they came it, that way on Christmas day, I’ll re-package them, wrap them, put them under the tree and no one would be the wiser.”  After all, I can act extremely surprised when necessary – LOL!  So, I got them, and I’ve been having fun playing with them. If you’d like to get your own, be sure to visit Ellen Hutson’s store – she has great prices and great service.

For this card, I used the stamp set Sleigh Bells Ring.  Because this is a very detailed stamp, I really didn’t want to get into coloring them, especially since coloring is not my strength (although I’m working on it!).  So I stamped it in Basic Black ink onto shimmery white CS.  I matted it onto gold CS and then onto Basic Black.  The card base is River Rock.  All layers were cut with the nestabilities.  As a final touch, I added 1/4″ black grosgrain.
