Happy Friday everyone! Today I wanted to share with you a sweet and simple card I created with Stampin’ Up!’s Wonderful Winterland stamp set. As soon as I saw this stamp set with all the sweet images, I just KNEW that I HAD to have it! Of course it’s taken me awhile to ink it up – but today’s the day. I had THIS layout in mind when I created this card – which was based on a sketch I saw at a new challenge blog called CASE this Sketch (details are at the link I gave you). Although I don’t always have time to participate in the challenges, I really like them because it’s a great way to take some of the thinking out of card design. When you have a layout in mind, everything just seems to come together that much more quickly. With practice, you also start to see different ways that you can adapt one sketch to create different looks.
The paper I used is from Stampin’ Up!’s Festival of Prints Paper Stack – a fantastic stack of holiday patterned papers in a 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ size – perfect for card making. I matted my strip of designer paper onto Cherry Cobbler card stock – to pull out the deepest color in my image. I colored the clothing on my image with Poppy Parade, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write markers and a blender pen, and I colored the face with Blush Blossom, Blushing Bride and Poppy Parade. The little embellishments on the right are the smallest sized rhinestones. Although recently I have been trying to keep the cards on my blog separate from the card video tutorials I post in the Stampin’ Up! Projects Gallery of Paper Crafter’s Library – after creating this card, I decided that I just HAD to do a video tutorial on it since I used a really fun coloring technique to give my image close to the same kind of contrast and look you get with Copic Markers (one my addictions LOL). So, full members of Paper Crafter’s Library as well as members of the Stampin’ Up! Only Gallery can expect the tutorial for this next week. Other news – you may or may not know about:
My new Greetings of the Season Stamp-a-Stack Tutorial was just released on Tuesday and I’m giving away the tutorial to TWO lucky winners. For more details on the tutorial as well as your chance to enter into the give-away – please click HERE.
Just a note about this tutorial for those of you that have been asking – the Stamp Classes by Email / Class Planners are being kept totally separate from Paper Crafter’s Library – so the tutorials will not be in the library.
In the next few weeks we are going to be launching an all new SUO (using Stampin’ Up! products only) online self-paced workshop – the Beautiful Brayer Workshop – which will teach you to MASTER the brayer along with a whole host of other great techniques. Paper Crafter’s Library members will get it FREE as part of their membership. More details on this class will be coming VERY soon – you can expect registration to start likely the end of next week.
I also have some exciting news for our Stampin’ Up! Project Gallery members….remember when I launched the new Stampin’ Up! gallery and told you that the contents of the gallery would be exploding in the next 6 months (this was as of the August 2012 release)…and when it did, the price would be going up? Well, the time is almost near. Within the next couple weeks we will be adding over 50 new videos into the library – these videos are all product and tool based – teaching you about, and where applicable, how to use Stampin’ Up!’s products. So if you don’t want to miss out on that, and you want to access it at the low, low price of $7.95 a month, then now’s the time to do it, because the price is going up. Please note – FULL Paper Crafter’s Library members already have access to all these videos – they are in the regular library, however, we will be adding them into the SU section of PCL to make it easier for you to find. Full details on becoming a Stampin’ Up! Projects Gallery member or full Paper Crafter’s Library member are below
Become a Member of the Stampin’ Up! Projects Video Gallery or Paper Crafter’s Library
If you haven’t already heard about it, in August we launched an all new-division of Paper Crafter’s Library dedicated to Stampin’ Up!-only projects, and we’ve been offering the opportunity to join at an absolutely dirt-cheap, rock bottom price. Seriously!
As part of your membership to our Stampin’ Up! Projects Video Gallery you’ll receive access to the video tutorial and pdf handout to 3 Stampin’ Up! projects per week – for a total of 12 projects per month! In addition to cards, each month there will be at least one 3D item, one template card, one technique and one scrapbook page. And all for only $7.95 a month!
Why so cheap? Because the site is still relatively new site and we started it from scratch. However, within the next few weeks we’re really going to beef up the content with over 50 new videos on Stampin’ Up! products and tools – what they are, how to use them as well as a some techniques with them – especially great if you are a newer Stampin’ Up! demo and want to learn about the products you’re selling 😉 At this point, the site will become a true library, rather than just a gallery which means that the price will go up. BUT….if you get in right at the beginning, YOUR price of $7.95 a month will NEVER go up! So grab this deal while you can by signing up below.
Now in case you are wondering – if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – you can use the projects AND pdf handouts for your workshops and classes. And yes, you can give the pdf handouts to your customers. The only thing we ask is that you do not distribute or share them on online sites, blogs, galleries, etc.
Now for those of you that are Paper Crafters’ Library Members, or are considering Paper Crafters’ Library membership at our member rate of $19.95 per month – you may be wondering what the difference is:
