Stampin' Up!

For today’s Stampin’ Up! Stamp Simply Saturday, I thought I’d share a card I made using the Fresh Cuts stamp set.  I sooooo love this stamp set – in particular the background image, which I decided to make the the focal point of my card.  The whole point of Stamp Simply Saturday is to share with you quick and easy cards (under 15 minutes to make) which have "wow" factor.  Although you’ve heard me say it before, you’re going to keep hearing me say it – the key to beautiful cards that look like they took more time than they really did, is the details.  It’s amazing how much wow factor adding a few embellishments to a card can create.

I stamped the background in white craft ink and embossed it with white embossing powder as well.  I then matted it onto Certainly Celery CS after having used the ticket corner punch on both layers. I sponged a flower from the Pretties kit in Certainly Celery ink, then nested a smaller flower (which I left white) in the center and held it in place on the main image using the medium celery rhinestone brad.  The matted image was then mounted to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I tied the wide Celery grosgrain ribbon all around the card in a knot, stamped the greeting in black and then did the "direct to paper" inking technique with the white craft pad. That’s it!

I liked the color combination of Certainly Celery, Kraft and White so much that I created another card as well.  Although it falls into the "simple" category in that it is easy, it’s a little more time consuming because you have all those layers to cut.

The card above also uses the silver hodgepodge hardware from the Occasions Mini Catalog, and Certainly Celery designer paper.
