Welcome to my Stampin’ Up! Stamp Simply Saturday where each Saturday we work on dispelling the myth that simple = boring and show you ways that simple CAN be beautiful! So what’s the secret?  It’s all in the details…

This week’s card uses one of my favorite of Stampin’ Up!’s "in colors": Groovy Guava.  I just love the dramatic look of Groovy Guava, Black and White!  The "details" I used to "step up" my card were the Ribbon Originals Sherbet ribbon, cutting and "popping" up the flowers, the clear rhinestone brads from the Pretties Kit and the paper piercing along the bottom.  If you noticed that the flowers had a "tone on tone" look, you’re absolutely right!  I stamped the Groovy Guava full strength for the one flower, and stamped it off once onto my grid paper, for a lighter look for the second flower.

Looking for a less expensive way to "step up" your card – use the Groovy Guava double stitched ribbon (you get by the roll of 15 yards) instead of the Ribbon originals where you pay more and get 2 yards each of 5 different ribbons.  The other thing you could substitute is a bit of crystal effects with dazzling diamonds glitter for the flower centers instead of the small rhinestone brads. Looking to cut a bit of the time involved? Eliminated the paper piercing. Take a look at the picture below of some cards I created that I "simplified" as described above.
