Stampin' up!

Stampin' Up!Today’s Stampin’ Up! Tutorial Tuesday is a continuation of the tutorial from Thursday on the 3" x 3" scalloped note cards.  As promised, today I am posting a tutorial and template on how to make this note box for the 3" x 3" cards & their envelopes.  Althought the original tutorial shows 4 cards and envelopes, you could actually fit 5 cards with their envelopes.

Download the template HERE.

Step 1: Cut and score an 8" x 10" piece of DP as directed by the downloaded template (other than the rounded flap, that will come next step).

Step 2: Using your coluzzle, cut out the largest circle from a scrap of cardstock and use that as your template to trace a rounded edge where shown on the template (you are aligning the edges of the circle with the edges of the 6" score line).

Step 3: This is what your traced rounded flap looks like.  Cut along your pencil line.

Step 4: This is what y our template now looks like.

Step 5: I’ve flipped my box upside down so you can hopefully see what I’ve done more clearly.  Using Tombow Mulit-purpose adhesive or sticky strip, I stuck the small bottom flaps to the inner middle flap of the box bottom.

Step 6:  My box is right side up again, and now I’m sticking the smaller side flap to the 1/2" bottom flap using Tombow or sticky strip.

Step 7: Place some adhesive along the edge of the right side flap and bring across and stick to the smaller left flap. Your box is now assembled.

Step 8: punch a 1/8" hole into a SCRAP of DP, center your 3/4" circle punch around this hole, and punch out (your 3/4" circle will now have a 1/8" circle punched out the middle of it).  Punch out a 1/8" hole on your box back as shown.

Step 9: Attach your 3/4" circular piece using a rhinestone or regular brad.  Do not stick the 3/4" circle down as you will insert the end of the the thread underneath the circle to begin the closure.

Step 10: Repeat on the flap.

Step 11: Take a 6" piece of copper thread (or linen thread), begin by wrapping it around the brad but UNDERNEATH the bottom 3/4" circle (it will stick there without any adhesive), then wrap it figure 8 style around the top and bottom brads to hold the box closed. Decorate your box front as desired.
