Text Print Butterfly Thank You Stampin Up Card by Andrea Walford

As I write this post, I’m sitting at gate F61 in the Toronto International Airport, about 20 minutes away from boarding our plane to Orlando. I’m exhausted because we didn’t finish packing until about 12:30 am last night, and then of course had a dickens of a time falling asleep – nothing like packing at the last minute! Actually, make that getting ready at the last minute – LOL – as I spent all of Saturday running from one store to another.

We started out Saturday morning discovering that my daughter had lost her eye glasses. I had actually forgotten she wore glasses because I hadn’t seen them on her in months. It wasn’t until I started unpacking her backpack from school (yes, I was procrastinating on that too!) that I discovered her empty glasses case, and realized her subterfuge. She probably figured that if she didn’t say anything about it, we wouldn’t notice. Now her prescription is mild enough that she’s okay – she needs it for distance – but given that we’re going to Disney, I want her to be able to see.

So our first stop on Saturday was Lens Crafters. That was the beginning of about 4 hours of non-stop shopping. Fast efficient, in and out – I think I hit about 15 different stores. That was before 7:30 pm, when I had put in a load of laundry and was in the process of packing that I discovered that my second son had a big hole in his one and only pair of running shoes, and that my two oldest boys were still wearing size 10 pj’s (they’re 12 and 14)! So….out we went again and hit 3 more stores before finally coming home. And I’m sure you all thought I was organized LOL!

Anyways, today’s card is a super clean and simple card I created using Stampin’ Up!’s Curly Cute Stamp Set (for the greeting). I stamped it onto my Whisper White CS (cardstock) in Soft Suede Classic ink. I created the butterfly element using today’s Quick Tip:

Quick Tip: Create Custom Colored Patterned Paper

You can create custom colored patterned paper by brayering over Stampin’ Up!’s first edition specialty patterned paper with your Classic Inks.

For my butterfly I brayered some of Stampin’ Up!’s First Edition Specialty Designer Paper using Pink Pirouette Classic ink. I punched out two butterflies with Stampin’ Up! elegant Butterfly punch and sponged their edges with Soft Suede Classic ink and layered them one on top of the other on the card front. The pearls were colored with a Copic marker (you could also use a Sharpie).

I hope you enjoyed today’s card!

You can link to some of the products I used above. Make sure you are logged into your country’s Stampin’ Up! site. You can purchase any of these products through your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator or if you don’t have one, you can use the “Find a Demonstrator” feature at – just make sure you select the appropriate country first.

If you have any questions please leave them in the comments section of this post and I’ll answer them in my next post – which will be on Wednesday.
