You know, I should really know better! Remember how I told you all how much I agonized over what journal-keeping supplies to bring along to document our Disney vacation? And how I ended up bringing a Smash book as well as a few scrapbooking supplies? What I didn’t tell you was that I also brought my little Canon Selphy photo printer too…..after all, what is a scrapbook without pictures right? So can you guess how much scrapbooking I’ve done so far? Yup! None! I’ve been way too pooped at the end of each day. About the best I’ve done so far is to type up a recap of the days events on my computer and collect a little ephemera. Sigh!
Anyways, today I thought I’d share with you another clean and simple card I created with Stampin’ Up!’s World Spectacular patterned paper. I used the balloon pattern to help me create the focal point of my card. After I matted a 1 1/2″ stip onto some Island Indigo cardstock, I cut some coordinating balloons out of my remaining DP and popped them up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For my greeting, I used the Friendly Phrases stamp set, but masked off the “to you” portion of the greeting so that I only had the awesome “happy day” text (I love that font). Of course the card wouldn’t be complete without a few rhinestones. That’s pretty much all there is to it.
Quick Tip: Use your DP to extend your design options by cutting out elements from the pattern and using them as focal points or simply accents forbyourvprojects. Note though that this works best with patterns of paper that have largere elements.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card!
All the products I used on this card are Stampin’ Up! And can be purchased through your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. If you don’t have one, you can use the “Find a Demonstrator” feature at www.stampinup.com – just make sure you select the appropriate country first
