Happy New Year! I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and a fantastic New Year celebration! We made it home safe and sound yesterday – only 1 stop and a 5 hour drive home compared to the 9 hour drive it took us to get to Ottawa. Our brand new furnace (you can read about this HERE) is working great – we really feel the difference on the main level and in the basement. Not so much in the main level – better than it was, but still not great. Thank goodness for the little gas fireplace in our bathroom LOL!
Today I wanted to share with you a Stampin’ Up! card I made using some of my SAB goodies. An SU demo friend of mine put in a HUGE pre-order which qualified for lots of SAB goodies, so she was kind enough to pass some along to me. I have to say I am absolutely IN LOVE with the SAB paper – Sycamore Street DSP – and the Sycamore Street Designer Buttons and Ribbons. Absolutely DELISH!
The funny thing is though, until the release of these products, Tangerine Tango was one of my least-used Stampin’ Up! colors. Now I just can’t seem to get enough of it in combination with Pool Party and Island Indigo. As you can see here I created a simple two-layer card. I started by matting a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the dotted DP pattern onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Tangerine Tango Card. I stamped my sentiment from the Delightful Dozen stamp set onto the top of a 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Whisper White card stock. I embellished the bottom with a piece of Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, and Island Indigo 1/4″ satin ribbons, and finished it off with a Tangerine Tango button threaded with Island Indigo Baker’s Twine. Easy Peasy!
So that’s it for today’s card, but I have a question for you: do you make New Year’s Resolutions? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the whole concept of “New Year’s Resolutions”. I made them for years – every year faithfully writing them down in a journal – but never kept them beyond January. I don’t know about you, but Resolution for me always meant “do it every day” – and as soon as I missed a day, in my mind I’d failed my resolution, which essentially led to me falling off that resolutions bandwagon so-to-speak.
For the last few years, I switched to “New Year’s Goals” – a little lower key than “Resolution” – and had way better success. Maybe because I didn’t pressure myself the same way. This year though, I’m working on something totally different, which I’ll share with you soon. Anyways, if you have thoughts on the whole Resolution thing then please take a minute and share in the comments section of the blog, otherwise, if you don’t, I’d love to hear what you think of Stampin’ Up!’s Spring Mini.
